Zach Frampton – compositions, piano // Martin Heslop – compositions, bass  // Michel Lambert – drums

Zach Frampton grew up in Seabright, Nova Scotia, skipping school to hitchhike home and play the drums along with Jimi Hendrix records. Moved to Montreal at 17 to be a drummer, heard Michel Lambert play and speak about his hatred of the word “musicianship”, switched to piano and soon dropped out of school to play full-time and battle mental illness and addiction for 10 years. Martin Heslop had long been a favourite musician and was the first call on bass with no hesitation when he started experimenting with his own trio projects in 2016. Now recovering from a rare lung disease with a clear head and thinking often about life and death, Michel and Martin were the obvious choices for this concert. This trio aims to draw inspiration from everywhere and to celebrate life.

Theo Abellard – piano, compositions // Marie-Ketely Gomes – bass, vocals // Raynal Ismeus – drums, computer

TSA Trio is a group led by pianist and composer Theo Abellard. The band pulls inspiration from different genres of music such as gospel and tribal African music but is deeply rooted in jazz. The group blends acoustic and electronic instrument to create a rich texture and atmosphere for their improvisations. The other members of the band are Raynal Ismeus on drums and computer and Marie-Ketely Gomes on vocals and bass.
