Cléo Palacio-Quintin – bass flute
Philippe Lauzier – bass clarinet
Cléo Palacio-Quintin (bass flute) and Philippe Lauzier (bass clarinet) approach improvisation as a form of meditation where the source of all vibration is breathing. Their wind instruments, low and soft, are used as resonators to magnify the details of their breaths, through a rich texture combining a variety of tones and multiphonic sounds. Sound becomes a living organic matter slowly shaped within time in order to discover the tiniest, most subtle acoustic variations. The listeners are therefore invited to “lose themselves” in this lush sonic space, revealing a new temporal perception.
